The Japanese percussionist Aya Suzuki works on the soundart performance Spill by Erik Griswold. With 30 kg of rice, she makes a kinesthetic shower of sound and works with various objects: temple bells, rice paper, bowls and home-made instruments.

Aya Suzuki started making music at the age of 6. She went to the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, where she received lessons from the extremely innovative marimba-player Keiko Abe. In 2012 she won first prize in the Marimba Spiritual competition. She is currently studying for a masters at Gent Conservatory under Wim Koninck. She has played solo concerts at the Festival van Vlaanderen, the BEAT IT!-festival in Concertgebouw Brugge, in the Handelsbeurs and in STUK.

Spill is a performance by Aya Suzuki (JP) on the installation from Erik Griswold | In collaboration with C-TAKT, Musica, Impulse Centre for Music, Provinciaal Domein Dommelhof.

This performance is part of the parcours program which takes place on saturday 24.10 at Provinciaal Domein Dommelhof and will be performed three times between 15:00 and 23:30.
