Sun 11 Oct 2020 - 09:00 to Mon 21 Dec 2020 - 17:00
Bibliotheek Neerpelt, Norbertinessenlaan 9, 3910 Neerpelt

Visual artist Babs Decruyenaere (BE) is building an archive of found objects from nature, thereby creating her own universe in which found natural elements play the main role. Coincidence allowed her to collect stones, leaves, and shells on countless walks along beaches in Zeeland, Picardy and Lanzarote. Decruyenaere arranges these finds into ingenious compositions in which the associations between the various forms tell a layered, refined and understated story.

The collected finds are systematically photographed and cataloged. In the dark of the darkroom she searches for hidden images. Her photograms are minimalistic studies of line, pattern and structure. Her work is an experiment with materials and shapes which relate to each other and challenge the imagination. A meticulously ordered life long work in which she tries to transcend the impossibility of ordering by form or matter.

This installation is part of the 3-day Expo-route on 23.10-25.10 in various locations in and around Provinciaal Domein Dommelhof, the Canal Zone and Gemeente Pelt.
