Majd Khalifeh - Herboren (cancelled)

Sun 25 Oct 2020 - 10:00 to 11:30
CC Palethe, Jeugdlaan 2, 3900 Overpelt

As a stateless Palestinian from a young age, Majd Khalifeh (PS) ended up alone in Belgium, without parents, and with responsibility for a younger brother. He was welcomed into an asylum center and from there sought a way into society. He started a journey: from newcomer to active citizen. Majd is currently a VRT journalist, documentary maker, speaker and author. During his lecture Majd Khalifeh will talk to some young adults from Pelt about the meaning of a polyphonic reality in the context of the project analog photography IDENTITY. After the lecture and the performance Rainbow by Nazanin Fakoor, their photos will be shown to the public in a temporary exhibition.

10:00 am: Book presentation Herboren by Majd Khalifeh + conversation with young people (with ticket)

11:30 am: Rainbow performance by Nazanin Fakoor and Swara Ensemble (with ticket)

12:30 pm: Opening photography exhibition IDENTITY by young adults (free)
