How do we experience nature and sound in this technological era? By working with the earliest materials that were used to make music, Beckers goes searching for the essence of this question. In Sonitum Horarium he explores the rich spectrum of sand sounds: crackling rhythms, the rustle of hourglasses, grains falling like musical notes in undulating melodies. Using a self-constructed setup, Beckers improvises his trance-inducing music, in which nature and technology merge into an organic whole.
